FLP Course: One-Time Payment: Celebrating Black Families & Healing Broken Stories

Description:
How do we use family stories (history/culture) to stimulate academic success (decision making, critical thinking, composition and grammar, and history) in our youth? The web-conference-based course for adults is Celebrating Black Families and Healing Broken Stories (HBS).

This course begins on October 10th and will be taught through December 5th. Attendees say “the course is life-changing.” It helps you find, curate, write and tell family stories hidden by oppression and injected oppression. Much more than a listing of family members, the stories we help you find will help engage the youth and bring the family together.

The course is a prerequisite for those who are establishing local Family-Lore Project programs for youth. Others are using the skills to strengthen their families, while parents and teachers are using it to learn our key techniques for using family stories to stimulate academic success.

HABS is for adults and one additional family or extended family member regardless of age.
